The First "The Red Stone" Review

Hi all,

Just wanted to let everyone know about a review I got for The Red Stone from fellow Author Rick Saunders. Have to say it really made my day! I'm thinking of it as an early Christmas present :)

"I couldn't put the book down! I read it throughout the day at work, then had some considerable time in the doctor's waiting room to read later in the day. So when I got home I started reading and the next thing I knew it was 2am and I was finishing the book. I REALLY enjoyed it. I loved the way you developed the characters and their relationships. And it has been a long time since I've seen dragons and other species used well in such stories. The relationship between Tannen and Berrinn reminded me of the original Joel Rossenberg fantasy books that I really loved (not the JR who writes political books). Well done! I hope to see a future adventure for the new Lord Protector sometime."

Rick's official review is on Amazon and the Publisher's site:
http://www.amazon.com/Red-Stone-Craig-Smith/dp/1600760368

http://www.stonegarden.net/index.php?main_page=product_book_info&products_id=72

Will let you guys know as more reviews become available!

I hope everyone has a very festive Christmas and New Year!!

It delves into notions and nightmares that haunt this strong and sometimes funny woman as she copes with false accusations and true horrors. This is a riveting, edge of your seat thriller as told from the other side. A Stabbing for Sadie will leave you breathless...wondering what you would do...and wondering what’s on the mind of the person standing next to you...

Building a Better Monster
by Christopher Treagus
50% only $5.48!
http://www.stonegarden.net/index.php?main_page=product_book_info&cPath=17_1&products_id=95

Building A Better Monster" explores the creation of the modern age's most recent monster myth: The Chupacabra. This novella imagines what would occur if enough people collectively began to believe in something, would it make it true? From the early stages of its beginning as a grass roots folktale, "Building A Better Monster" follows the spread of the rumor of the Chupacabra, the goat-sucker, blamed for slaughter of countless animals through Mexico and the American South-west.

In 1996 the Chupacabra scare ravaged all of Mexico. The 'goat-sucker' was claimed to be responsible for everything from any live stock death, even to human murders. It was all based upon a hoax, until people started to believe. The title novella of this collection examines what happens when that belief becomes strong enough to make the creature real... Also included are the stories "Cat's Eye," "Two Is Not Enough," "Fearstricken," "In the Heart of the Forest," "What Price To Be A God," "Skin Walker, or The Embrace Of Blood," "After The Fall," and "When Angels Weep." These short stories were published in print and online between 2003 and 2004 at web sites such as Horrorfind.com, Night Shopping, and The Swamp. Also featured are the rare first stories read on the Sonoma State University Radio program "Wings of Desire" in 1992, prior to the publication of Treagus' debut novel, "The Hunting Sorrow" in 1995.

Blood and Rain
by B.L. Morgan
Also 50% off $6.48

When walking on the dark side it is important to remember your way home…unless you are private investigator, John Dark, who makes his home far from the light.

In the drug infested streets of East St. Louis, alcoholic John Dark gets the cases deemed too dirty for the cops to touch. Battling grime with grime, Dark does his job without a touch of class and sans any emotion, until….

When his cases get weirder, and darker, John Dark finds enough heart to save the day, save the girl, and just maybe find his way home again.

This exciting detective story by Bob Morgan will pull you into the depthless shadows of the crime-ridden streets, and into the horrific cases of John Dark.

Waldo Billingsly has just received a sentimental letter from his grandfather, Old Hoss. It’s a note that sets in motion a rollicking adventure full of characters with names like Brisbane and Phosphate, classic cars like 1965 Dodge Darts, magical cornfields, and top doo-woppers.

The Unreals lives up to its namesake with everything from an Extremely Untouchable Ward to a Garden of Old Movie Monsters where one of the book’s surreal characters, Bucktooth, comments, “This water sure tastes real.”

Blurb:

There was something terribly wrong with this investigation and Daniel Boardman knew it. Daniel was director of the Center for Paranormal Activity, Massachusetts Chapter for many years. Encountering poltergeists, hearing disembodied voices, eerie footsteps coming down the stairs and even ghostly figures floating unaided, had become routine for he and his experienced crew. They documented the phenomenon with a scientific precision, photographed or recorded the events in detail, and analyzed the data as a matter of routine.

But there was nothing routine about this case. For the first time in his career, Daniel felt real terror. Real Fear. They had unleashed something into the world that they couldn't put back and it had taken one of their own; Daniel's best friend. Calling on help from an old expert in the field of demonology, they have no choice but to use every skill they posess to stop the murdering entity known as Nabuzzicharr before it grows too strong and destroys everything.

But how many lives will it cost them?

In America

Hi all,

Sorry for taking so long to post another post. Found a cheap flight to the USA and decided to go for it! Have been here for just over a month and having a really good time. Haven't been doing much writing but have been soaking things in and it should help when I get into writing again. The Red Stone is on track for it's new release and should be out in April/May. It will be a new improved version. Next to no flaws and pretty much streamlined and all improved.

Also been working on the second book which should be pretty awesome once it has been all put together.

Currently in California soaking up the sun. Have a bad cold but hopefully that will clear up over the next few days. Thanks to all those who have read my blog in the past and I promise to post way more often from now on!

Stonegarden on Facebook and update on progress

Hi,

I think I might have mentioned this before but I thought I would update everyone. I started a group for my publisher Stonegarden on Facebook. And it has grown quite a lot recently up to 51 members now. Not too many but only really just started telling people about it. So if you are on Facebook or not on Facebook but want to give it a go please feel free to stop by and join. All are welcome! A few discussions have started and it would be great for more people to join in.

And a little update on progress. Started doing a new edit for the book. Just to streamline things a little and make it a little more enjoyable :). Almost half way and picking up speed. And I'm also working on the second book. Which to be honest is going to be better than the first!

And if you are a member of a group on Facebook or anywhere else; I or anyone else would be interested in joining. Feel free to post about it here.

The Ethereal Gazette: Issue Six

Hi,

Another one of my short stories (It Emerged from the Darkness) has been published in The Ethereal Gazette magazine. This time in their sixth issue. It's a pretty small magazine but I have a few copies of the earlier issues and there are some really good stories in it. Mostly horror/thriller type stories. Maybe not to everyone's tastes but good none the less :).
